T. L. Reese Corporation is a family of construction and real estate based businesses founded in 2005 by Troy L. Reese. Our primary focus is the construction and maintenance of facilities. Our company has developed into the leading African American Owned General Contractor in the region. This means always having the best and most efficient processes and people. To achieve this T. L. Reese Corporation takes personal responsibility of our clients’ projects by treating them as our own. We invest in ways that will pay off in competitive advantages for our clients, with complete services from pre-construction, construction and maintenance through replacement. Competitive Advantage

T. L. Reese Construction is a minority business serving the construction industry dominated by majority firms. The metropolitan Milwaukee construction market is in dire need of qualified minority contractors. Our firm is needed to assist community sensitive developers in keeping their investment dollars in their neighborhoods while offering employment and hope to residents not considered by majority construction firms. The need for our company even extends to the majority general contracting firms that need to fill participation goal voids in their projects. We have and continue to build strong, reputable relationships in the construction industry.

History

T. L. Reese Construction’s first project began on Thursday, October 1, 1992. The project was a porch replacement for $500.00. After our initial project, we focused on residential renovations and maintenance projects for landlords, tenants and home owners. We hired people in our neighborhood with the desire to learn a trade. After a few years we began renovations for local small commercial businesses, churches and rental rehabilitations in Chicago. For the first thirteen years the business remained small and on a part time basis.

Jon Mathews (Master Electrician) co-founded a minority owned electrical contracting firm in 2005. In 2007 he merged his company with another electrical firm creating one of the top 3 African American owned and operated electrical contracting firms in Milwaukee. In 2010 Jon sold his interest in his electrical company to form T. L. Reese Electrical Systems with Troy L. Reese.

In 2006 we chose to move T. L. Reese Construction to the next level and make it a full time entity. We are currently working on projects in the residential, commercial, retail, food service, higher education and industrial markets. Our primary business focus is construction management services with a secondary focus on general contracting. We partner with majority contractors and corporations to obtain and successfully execute larger projects. As our business grows, we will progressively expand operations into other sectors.

Mortenson Construction is the Construction Manager of the Wisconsin Energy Institute Project (WEI) located in Madison, Wisconsin.
